When you desperately want change, you will do whatever it takes to make it happen
Sherre Webb
Lately, I find myself torn between wanting to encourage you to figure out how you are supposed to make a positive impact on the world and simply wanting to uplift and encourage you because of our world’s current circumstances.
There’s no way I can simply ignore the fact that those who have died have left behind family members who are now mourning the loss of their loved ones without so much as being able to be by their side to say their final goodbyes.
This virus has shaken our world beyond what we could have ever imagined; however, on the other side of this pandemic will be a shift that has long been overdue. Sometimes I wake up and ask God, “Will this be the day you lift this terrible disease off of us?”
Realizing that everything has a purpose and there is nothing new under the sun, this message came to me that it’s time to do something different.
Is it selfish of me to want to see the kids gathering at the park, playing without care while laughter fills the air?

Is it selfish that I want to see our teenagers outside playing a game of basketball or football in the local park?
Is it selfish that I want this pandemic to go away so that every parent that has a child in high school or college, after years of putting in hard work to get to this point, can see them walk across the stage ?
Is it selfish that I want to be able to go to my son’s basketball and football games?
Is it selfish that right now, I would gladly sit out in the heat with the sun glaring on my forehead until beads of sweat form and I have to take off my sunglasses to wipe the sweat from my face just to watch my son at his track meet?
I think not. I believe, like myself, most people would love to witness and partake in these simple, everyday activities again. We have taken so much for granted that we have forgotten that the simple things in life are actually a privilege and a blessing.
Wouldn’t we love to attend church now? Wouldn’t we love to walk through the store without a mask on for fear of contracting a deadly virus? Wouldn’t it be nice to go shopping or to the gym? Wouldn’t it be nice to be able to go to the doctor without fear for a simple sinus infection or minor injury?
Wouldn’t it be nice to go to a family gathering now? I can almost guarantee you the family drama wouldn’t be in attendance if we could meet in the same space today. Wouldn’t we all be so grateful if we could once again enjoy the little things which are actually the big things that truly make life worth living? Wouldn’t it nice?
The answer to all of those questions is of course, yes. No doubt about it, so if it hasn’t happened for us yet, maybe there is a bigger message and lesson for all of humanity. Maybe our hearts needs transforming, and if there’s one thing I know is that a person can only be transformed through pain, and so…here we are.
What are we going to do different?
The world desperately needs a shift in our mindsets – in the way we view other people whose values and beliefs are different than our own; a shift in how mankind treats one another based on their skin color, ethnicity, and those values and beliefs. Yes, it’s time to do something different.
This shake up is our wake up call! Shame on those who do nothing different afterwards to make this world a better place. If this does not make you think and re-think how you have been operating, causing you to evaluate the areas of your life that needs improving (or maybe even a complete overhaul), then you are dealing with some serious hurt internally that requires healing.
There’s nothing wrong if this is the case for you because most of the time, we ignore that which is causing us to operate in a way that is counterproductive to our growth in life, and so…here we are
Reality Check: This shake up is our wake up call!
What are we going to do different?
People have been walking around spewing hate with hearts as cold as ice as if our fellow man isn’t a human just like you. Our selfishness and self-centeredness has caused us to lose sight of what really matters.
We take for granted those who have dedicated their lives to helping and healing the sick. We take for granted those who have dedicated their lives to teaching. We take for granted the knowledge that is so readily accessible to us that help improve our lives. Everything is so easily accessible, but we, as humans…take it for granted. We gripe and complain about trivial things that won’t matter in a week and so…here we are.
What are we going to do different?
We have egos in leadership, running our world based on their own desires, not men and women of God whose heart and intent is set on doing what is best for the people. Sadly, this is a reflection of the masses and it’s certainly time for us to do something different.
It is apparent that it’s time to do a lot of things differently. It’s time to examine our hearts and get ourselves together because the current circumstances are also a reflection of the masses.
Again, I ask, what are we going to do different?
Right now we need to help one another in any way we can and if you have something to add or say on this subject, please leave a comment below. As always, I would love to hear your thoughts and concerns.
Please like and share this with anyone you feel could benefit
