Next Level Mindset

You can choose to plan in advance for the life you want to live or you can choose to go nowhere fast.

Prepare For The Next Level

If you are ready to go to another level in your life but you feel apprehensive about moving forward, the truth is any fear or doubts you have can be minimized or in some cases, even eliminated with a little preparation. The truth is you must prepare in advance for where you want to go and for what you want to experience because as we all know when you fail to plan then you plan to fail.

Maybe you are among those who are ready to experience a different way of living and are seeking new challenges, but when you think about the hard work it’s going to take to get there you feel overwhelmed, which only leads to procrastination. Maybe you really just don’t have a clue of how to go to a new level so you don’t even try which, in turn, leaves you feeling stuck.

The fact that it takes hard work is what stops most people from even trying because they immediately see the impossible based on the way they perceive the process to success.

Whether it be your personal life or career and business life, preparing for the next level does include taking action but even more so, it has to do with shifting from your current mindset that’s stopping you from moving forward to one that is more conducive to where you are trying to go.

This was probably the biggest lesson I learned along my journey of changing my mindset and becoming who I needed to be in order to do what I love. I didn’t have a realistic understanding of the process so the struggle was real for me, but if I could go back, I wouldn’t change any part of the process because it has everything to do with my life’s work and how I show up for you guys.

From The Old To The Improved

As I stated before, preparing for the next level involves changing your mindset from the old to the improved.

For starters, you have to:

A) Know your starting point.

  • What is your current mindset concerning success?
  • What is your current level of success?

B) Be clear on your goals.

  • Where are you trying to go?
  • What do you want to accomplish?
  • What will it look like when you arrive?

In between point A and point B is where you do the work of incrementally shifting your mindset.

Notice I said incrementally. This is where most people quit before they even get started because usually, their idea of the hard work it will take to go to a new level is viewed as a mountain of impossibilities. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth

Let me be clear, point B (where you are going) is also where you have the best chances of opportunity meeting your hard work of preparation. Let me also be clear in stating that preparation makes what seems impossible, possible. You see, you can’t hold something in your hand unless you first see it and believe it to be true for you in your mind.

What do you imagine for yourself? Do you know deep down that you are a stylist or an artist? Maybe you’re a great organizer or event planner but you aren’t doing it.

Comment below and let me know what you are great at. The first step is acknowledging your greatness.

Maybe you aren’t being the leader you have been called to be and you know there is room for growth. You’re not alone in your experience, but once you realize your purpose is bigger than you is when a mind shift will occur.

Maybe you are someone who has finally declared “enough is enough” and now desires to transition from the 9-5 world to entrepreneurship. Maybe you already work for yourself and are ready to take your business to the next level.

Whatever level you are currently on, in order to move up, you must expand your thinking.

We already know the importance of changing our mindsets to get different results in life, but much of the time, the conversation around this topic skips over making it clear that a changed mind happens gradually, over time, one mind shift at a time.

Next Level Mindshift

My focus is on helping you to understand the process of changing your mindset and not just changing your mindset in theory. To be frank with you, without taking calculated steps to change your mindset, nothing changes at all. Those calculated steps are what lead to you experiencing incremental mind shifts, which over time, will result in you having a completely different mindset.

Going back to your desire to go to a new level: Remember, there is a point A, where you are at now, and a point B, where you are going. Preparing for that next level is going to require you to get strategic in your approach to accomplishing your goal.

Ask yourself:

  • What all is involved in where I am trying to go?
  • What skills will I need to develop to go to the next level?
  • What skills and knowledge do I already possess that can help me along in the process?

The biggest question that you must ask yourself is:

  • Who do I need to become to get to where I want to go?

Next Level Thinking

You already have what it takes! You may simply need a shift in your perspective.

Be sure to always keep in mind that with every change – every experience of growth that changes you just a little and also pushes you to become better, every new person you meet along the way, every struggle, and every small success along your journey to the next level is preparing you to be ready.

Your job is to consistently be intentional in your actions and in the way you are moving forward and to also remain focused on the end goal at all times.

So there you have it! Those are my tips on preparing for the process to succeed. It’s all about your perspective and breaking the process down into mentally digestible steps. You have to become someone different to get something different and that takes time. Success doesn’t happen overnight but it is most certainly possible.
