Why Haters Should Give You Life

Why Haters Should Give You Life

“If you don’t have any haters you need to work harder at winning”

Ahh…the haters. There’s nothing quite like ’em. They used to irritate the hell out of me until I understood that even our haters serve a purpose. Over time, I have discovered that haters absolutely must show up in our lives, which is usually and ironically, when you are at your best and on top of your game or, at the very least, headed to the top.  Please believe that as soon as you start making changes and winning in life, a hater will have something negative to say, in hopes of invoking an even more negative reaction from their intended target.

“If you have haters, just keep on doing you boo”

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your outlook), haters are a necessary evil that show up to counteract the tremendous good (translation: goals) that you have accomplished. Allow them to serve as a constant reminder of how great you really are. Their hateful words or actions are a sign that you are winning in life. With their venomous words, a hater will attack and try to tear you down (because they are usually cowards) but the chances of them confronting you face to face and having an “adult-like” conversation are slim to none. While your haters are doing what they do best (hating), you should just keep on doing you. The fact that you even have haters is enough of a reason as to why they should give you life.

“You should never give your power away to haters”

Now don’t get me wrong – I won’t proclaim that I have never been affected by a hater’s words or actions; however, I didn’t allow them to break me, and neither should you. Anytime you decide to improve your life on any level, something must come to challenge that decision – mine came in the form of a hater. At first, I didn’t recognize the purpose of this person’s behavior towards me, but later realized the experience itself, came to challenge me. It was only a test to see if I would put into practice all the information I had studied and learned regarding changing my mindset. The only way to know if we have truly learned a life lesson or changed a counterproductive behavior is by going through some tough times and learning how to deal with difficult people. These circumstances are not coincidental and are intended to help us grow to the next level. It’s amazing how life lessons are always individual, but can’t be learned without experiencing various levels of relationship with other people.

“Learning how to use negative energy as a motivator to produce positive results is a necessary skill to maintain peace in your life”

More times than not, a hater will catch you off guard and show up at the most unexpected time (because they are so good at doing this). When the haters entered my life, seemingly out of nowhere, I didn’t see them coming; the hate caused me to stumble and fall, but I got back up. Never let a hater take you out the game.

My experience was perfectly orchestrated for my life – set up in a way that I could witness the change that had taken place within my mindset that I was not yet aware of. I noticed the change simply by how I chose to respond instead of reacting to my haters. The growth that is needed for each one of us will determine the experiences presented in our lives.

Although uncomfortable, these individualized experiences are a necessary part of life because they help stretch our mental and emotional muscles. It is for this very reason that it is important to learn how to be comfortable when life hurls us into uncomfortable circumstances. It’s even more important to learn how to maintain your peace, despite your circumstances, because nothing, and I mean nothing, is worth losing your peace of mind.

“If you have haters please understand that they are a Work in Progress”

The first step in being able to progress in life is admitting that being a work in progress is an ongoing process. With that being stated, please allow me to be the first to proudly admit that I am a work in progress.

I think it’s important that “Non-Haters” have a little compassion for our lovely haters. We must understand that they too, are a work in progress. After all, they aren’t very happy people and the only way they know how to express their unhappiness is to attempt to knock someone else down. Think about it this way: they are longing for love and attention. What’s even more sad is these types of people don’t even realize that they are, indeed, a hater. The adage, “misery loves company” is as true today as it has ever been. Don’t take the bait, but instead, choose to reject the invite to keep misery company.

“Haters are gonna hate”

Your haters should give you life because in all honesty, they are doing you a favor by confirming that you are on the right track in life. If their actions or words manage to cause you to stumble or temporarily knocks you down, the experience will teach you to be more prepared the next time a hater comes for you. Part of being prepared is knowing if you continue to reach your goals and move forward in your life, the haters will, indeed, come for you again.

Be thankful for your haters and send love their way. Master the skill of using your haters as motivation because the bottom line is…haters are going to hate.
